Manon Guilberteau

I am a graduate student enrolled in an international degree focusing on Genetics and Molecular Biology at the University of Paris VII. I joined the Bergelson lab for the summer 2016 to further my knowledge in plant ecology, evolution and genetics.

I have studied the circadian clock of cockroaches for a research internship last summer, and as this endogenous oscillating mechanism is widely conserved, I now have the opportunity to investigate it in plants. The circadian clock of plants regulates many daily rhythms of gene expression, metabolism and physiology, including the interaction between plants and microbes. It has been shown that bacteria can influence the plant’s circadian clock. I will investigate how natural fungal endophytes of Arabidopsis thaliana influence the clock of their host.
