We’re excited to welcome Mac to the lab as he joins us for his postdoctoral work, where he will bring his expertise in evolutionary genomics and host–microbiome dynamics to explore how host genetic diversity shapes the spread and evolution of pathogens.
Mac holds an M.S. in Biology from the University of Colorado Denver and completed his Ph.D. in Evolutionary Biology at the University of Pennsylvania.
His doctoral research, conducted under the mentorship of Dr. Corlett Wood, investigated how parasites influence the ecological and evolutionary outcomes of host–mutualist interactions. Prior to that, he studied the genomics of host adaptation in recently diverged populations of Rhagoletis pomonella in Dr. Greg Ragland’s lab. Welcome to the team!
